Make it! - Foam core bust

Please excuse my extremely inexcusable absence. You can thank a certain friend for this return.

Let's carry on, shall we? Just spotted this really great great idea for a jewelry display (or so much more!) at Bromeliad.

I am always on the look-out for something that you can make yourself, but I'll readily admit that I don't typically do them. I put them all in little folder called "Do it" and then... don't. But this one? This I really like. Maybe I'll actually do it?

I'll let you know.

Etsy Says

Good morning, it's Saturday! If your week was anything like mine, you're probably still curled up in the fetal position on your couch, muttering incoherent nonsense to yourself. But relax! Let go of your knees, grab a cup of coffee and start your day with a smile. Why? Why not?!

So, I have this new idea and I want to see what you think... I'm going to start a weekly section called Etsy Says, where I take the weekly advice of Etsy and actually do it.

Why the hell is that interesting to you? For starters, you'll get to vicariously live through me reaching outside of my comfort zone. Together we'll learn what works and doesn't. And, by the end of it all, we'll have some real qualitative answers to the question everyone asks: does anyone really sell stuff on Etsy?

Add some sparkle to your Monday

I have been craving some luscious sparkles for to brighten up my workweek. There's nothing like a big, vintage, rhinestone piece to add that level of Fancy.  So, while I head out to the antique stores to find some of my own, check out these amazing ready-to-wears from Etsy.

Mmmm... Sparkly things... Wish me luck at the antique store!

Now go, dear invisible reader! Go and spend your Monday as you really want to; on your couch!

By the way...

Did anyone else know that Chico's has really cool jewelry?

Packaging

The key to a good brand is to be thorough and thoughtful.  Carrying a consistent identity throughout the process (from introduction, purchase, all the way to receipt) is hugely important.  I certainly lay no claims that I have mastered this art... In fact, today's post comes from my own research.
In short, I need to work on my packaging. While Lovely Package doesn't have an abundance of (or really, any) jewelry package examples, they do show how graphics and thought can differentiate your brand from everyone else's.
Here's a few I'm digging...
